Members of the Styx Pride cubs - these young lions are growing rapidly, the oldest now nearly 20 months. This is of course a dangerous stage for young lions - they are growing rapidly, want to help with the hunting, yet are so naive that much of the time they spoil opportunities; the result is that starvation, even at this late stage is a reality, particularly with the younger cubs.

A pair of Cheetah, we assume a mother and her approximately 20 month old daughter. These Cheetah have provided us with good viewing over the last few months and are in top condition. Included in the list of kills which we have seen them making are 2 Steenbok & a Scrub hare.

There were 20 or so Elephant in this group and this included some very young calves. As conditions dry up so we can expect more and more of these sightings as the elephants converge on the sand river which runs through Mala Mala.

Five Lionesses of the Eyrefield Pride eating an adult male Warthog which they killed in front of three landrovers near the Mala Mala airstrip. Winter conditions mean that many of the predators remain active well into the daylight hours.
